All about Big Bertha . . .Movies that really move!!
Big Bertha is a huge and truly spectacular inflatable movie screen that can be erected instantly, almost anywhere. She is the first of her kind in Australia. Unlike other products on the market the screen is designed for front or rear projection and using our state of the art technology we can put virtually any video output up on the big screen. This can range from VHS to DVD, Karaoke, X-Box games and live television. The whole system can be deflated in a matter of seconds, should weather conditions require it, making it safe and practical for outdoor projection of video, film, slides, laser shows or other media. The screen can be quickly quickly detached and can be replaced with scrims or painted signs for daytime display. The complete system weighs less than 90kgs and can be setup in a few minutes, making it ideal for temporary promotions and signage where a conventional screen installation would be too heavy or too dangerous or installation time is critical. The system can be setup on roof tops, lawns or parking structures. The frame itself is approximately 7.5m tall x 6 m wide. The screen size is approximately 6m x 5.4m (the bottom .9 m being a blackout mask). The portability of the Big Beautiful Bertha not only makes her very unique but very cost effective also. IMPORTANT NOTE: Electrical supply, safety and site considerations The screen is very flexible and can still operate safely in conditions that would make fixed units very unstable and dangerous. If light/moderate winds are forecast the screen in most cases can still operate safely providing that it can be positioned in a way that it is 90 degrees to the prevailing breeze. In the event that the screen needs to be taken down due to unsafe conditions, unlike fixed units, this can be done in a matter of two or three minutes. When considering site layout it is important to ensure that an area roughly 6 metres in front and to the rear of the screen is kept clear of all obstacles. Your guests or performers should be prevented from entering this area. Our projector needs to be positioned about 14-15 metres from the screen, front or rear depending on your preferred projection method. The screen is completely waterproof and rain will not bother it. However our state of the art projection equipment must be protected from the rain and moisture. For this reason we normally use the back of our Production Vehicle as a projection platform or a suitable on site building. However as your audience is not likely to sit and watch a film during a full on storm or rain shower this is unlikely to be a problem. In the event of a last minute change of venue due to rain showers we can screen a film onto our screen hung inside a large hall or gymnasium. Power requirements: We need access to a secure power supply: single phase 240 volt/10 amp (which is your standard power point for general household use). To ensure current integrity and protect our electrical equipment from brownouts and spikes, we are unable to run our extension cords more than 30 metres from the outlet source. Alternatively we do have a power generator that can be used for sites that do not have mains power.
